Contract Opportunity

Title: Fund Research and Planning Contract  
Term: 3-month term contract 
Report to: Board of Directors, Fundraising Committee

About The Foundation

The Twin Oaks/Birches Health Care Charitable Foundation (The Foundation) is a community-based registered charity that raises funds for patient/resident care improvements at the Twin Oaks Hospital and The Birches Nursing Home.    

Key Duties & Responsibilities: 

  • Research and identify potential corporate funders, community partners and sources of funding from the community to support The Foundation’s fundraising efforts.  Assist with developing asks and presentations.

  • Research and develop strategies and tactics for fundraising through major gifts, endowments, events, corporate support, planned giving and other methods as appropriate.

  • Identify ways to engage with people who access the Twin Oaks Hospital and The Birches facilities.

  • Assist with the development and implementation of creative and engaging fundraising strategies.

  • Identify opportunities to generate content and pursue other profile-raising initiatives across a wide range of media (including social media).

  • Make recommendations to maximize The Foundation’s website and social media efforts, relating to its role in the dissemination of information and promotion of events/fundraising initiatives.
     

Qualifications & Experience: 

  • A degree or diploma in marketing, public relations, communications, commerce/business or a related field.

  • Experience with research, communications and business planning.

  • Basic knowledge of fundraising principles and strategies.

  • Excellent communication, organization, time management, planning and problem-solving skills.

  • Familiarity with the Eastern Shore community is an asset.


Terms of Contract:

  • This is a three-month term contract.

  • Remuneration will be based on the level of knowledge/experience and deliverables on the goals of the project.

  • The Fund Developer is expected to work independently as well as collaboratively with the Fundraising Committee.
